Implementing Illinois Writing Standards In K-8 Classrooms

This workshop will guide participants through an examination of the intent of the Illinois Writing Standards, how to integrate standards and create quality tasks that can be used in the classroom. Evidence statements and rubrics will be used to determine the quality of work students submit. Additionally, participants will review integration ofwriting into the content areas and some thoughtful technology tools will be utilized to support writing instruction.

When all requirements are met for completion of this workshop, participants will receive 20 professional development hours.
